An AI coding agent for your terminal. It reads your repo, plans, edits across files, runs your tests and commits. Free to start.

One command to install

npm install -g @getmegabrain/cli, then megabrain in your project. Sign in once; you need no keys of your own.

From the task to the pull request

It plans the work, writes the code across files, runs your commands and tests, reviews its own diff, then commits and opens the pull request.

In CI too

The same agent runs wherever a terminal does, your CI included, on the same plan and the same models.

Limits you can see

Each paid plan has a session limit over 5 hours and a weekly limit that resets every Thursday. megabrain limits and the /limits command show both, with the time each resets.

Questions

Is the MegaBrain CLI free?+

Yes. Free costs nothing and needs no card: the agent in your terminal, your editor and the Mac app, the free models, and your own API keys and local models (Ollama, LM Studio) with no limits from us.

Which models can the agent use?+

90+ models: GLM, Kimi, MiniMax, DeepSeek, Qwen, Grok and Auto included in the paid plans, Claude, GPT and Gemini from Pro, the free models, any model through your own key, and local models served by Ollama or LM Studio.

Does it run on Linux and Windows?+

Yes. The CLI is published to npm for macOS, Linux and Windows. The desktop app is for the Mac.

Does my code leave my machine?+

The agent runs on your machine, and your code stays there: only what a request needs goes to the model you choose. MegaBrain does not train AI models on your code.

How do I start?+

Install the CLI with npm install -g @getmegabrain/cli, run megabrain in your project and sign in once. Or download MegaBrain for Mac (macOS 13 or later on Apple silicon (M1 or newer)).
