MegaBrain BioScience

A workbench built
only for the life sciences.

Genomics, single-cell, proteomics, structural biology, cheminformatics, and the clinic. The MegaBrain BioScience app runs the pipeline, searches the bio literature and databases, and traces every step — on your machine, where the data already is.

MegaBrain BioScience — Cross-species scRNA
Session

PubMed retrieval complete. Eight benchmark papers resolved and verified against title and first author; four supplied PMIDs were corrected, two off-topic hits omitted.

What it does

An app that does the science,
right where your data lives.

Runs bio pipelines locally

Scanpy, Seurat, Bioconductor, Nextflow, and PyMOL run on your machine — a live kernel the agent shares. Load a 500K-cell atlas or a BAM directory, iterate on it, and never wait on a round-trip or hand a patient cohort to a server.

Knows the bio literature and databases

PubMed, bioRxiv, medRxiv, UniProt, PDB, Ensembl, ClinVar, ChEMBL, and GEO are wired in, not bolted on. The agent resolves accessions and DOIs, verifies against title and first author, and drops off-topic hits.

Traces every step

From FASTQ to figure, each result traces to the exact code, data hash, reference build, and environment — a reproducible record you can hand to a reviewer, a collaborator, or a regulator.

Checks its own work

An independent Reviewer re-derives your headline result in a clean kernel and returns a verdict — Verified, Inconclusive, or Refuted — before it reaches a manuscript or a go/no-go decision.

Why bio-only

Every other research agent
is also trying to do physics.

Claude Science, Google Co-Scientist, and Microsoft Discovery are general-science systems that happen to be used for the life sciences. We picked one field and gave it everything.

Depth beats breadth in the life sciences

A general research agent has to be adequate at astrophysics, materials, and economics too. We spend all of it on one stack: assay to atlas to manuscript. Every skill, connector, renderer, and eval in the app is a bio one.

The failure modes are bio-specific

Batch effects mistaken for biology, ambient RNA read as a cell type, a gene symbol silently coerced to a date, the wrong reference build. A domain-blind reviewer does not check for these. Ours does.

Your data is the regulated kind

Patient cohorts, unpublished screens, and pre-competitive chemistry cannot be pasted into a chat window. Local compute is not a preference in this field — it is the condition for using the tool at all.

Local by design

The compute happens on your machine.

MegaBrain BioScience is a desktop app, not a browser tab. The kernel, your files, and the analysis all run locally — so patient cohorts, unpublished screens, and pre-competitive chemistry never leave your hardware. The agent's reasoning runs in the cloud via the MegaBrain Gateway; your data stays put.

Read the docs
  • Zero round-trip latency per cell
  • No PHI, no genotypes, no assay bytes leave your machine
  • Bring your own LIMS, S3 buckets, and secrets
  • Optional cloud runtime for sharing & long jobs
How it works

From download to publication

01

Download the app

Native builds for Apple Silicon, Intel Macs, and Linux. Install once — the compute runtime and the bio stack ship inside.

02

Point it at your data

Open a project on the counts matrix, VCF, or assay plate that already lives on your disk. Nothing uploads; the kernel reads them in place.

03

Do the science

The agent runs the pipeline, queries UniProt and PubMed, and drafts the write-up — while the Reviewer verifies each result.

Built for your field

Pre-configured bio skills, 60+ life-science databases, native renderers

Curated skills and connectors for each bio sub-field, literature and database search with citations the reviewer verifies, and biological artifacts rendered in their native form — all on the MegaBrain Gateway.

Native bio renderers

Inspect 3D protein structures, genome-browser tracks, chemical structures, sequence alignments, UMAPs, and PDFs in their native form — not as a screenshot the model describes back to you.

Persistent Python & R kernels

AnnData objects, Seurat objects, and loaded models stay in memory across analyses — bioinformatics lives in both languages, so the workbench does too.

Scales to HPC & GPUs

Attach a kernel over SSH to a Linux box or HPC login node, submit batch jobs, and burst from one GPU to hundreds — for alignment, docking, or folding runs that do not fit on a laptop.

Draft manuscripts in place

Write up results next to the analysis with rendered Markdown and LaTeX — every figure linked to the code that made it, ready for a journal or a regulatory submission.
